Wyndham Clark fired a flawless final-round, 11-under 60 featuring an eagle at the par-5 12th to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson by three strokes at 30-under.
He ranked No. 1 in Strokes Gained: Putting (12.573).
“Man, it was pretty amazing [coming down the stretch]. Obviously I made a birdie on 14, and I look and Si Woo’s right there on my heels. Then I birdied 15, and I just knew I had to keep birdieing because I knew Si Woo was probably going to do the same thing, or even Scottie.
“I felt pretty comfortable, but I knew I had to put the pedal to the metal and keep making birdies. I made more than I thought I was going to make, that’s for sure.
“I didn’t look at all [at the scoreboard] until 17. 17 I looked because I thought maybe I was up one or two, and I saw I was up one. I knew on 17, okay, this would be a huge putt to make. Making that, I kind of knew that barring something crazy that Si Woo did, I should win. Then 18, that was just the icing on the cake on top.”
This was the American’s fourth PGA Tour title in his 201st start at the age of 32. He set a new tournament record for the low final-round score (previous: 61/Xander Schauffele/2022). He also shot 60 in what was the final round to win the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am (weather reduced to 54 holes).
Clark was one of four players to post 60 or better in the final round en route to victory on record: David Duval/1999 American Express (59), Stuart Appleby/2010 Greenbrier Classic (59), Tommy Gainey/2012 RSM Classic (60), Wyndham Clark/2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (60)* and 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson (60): Note *54 holes due to weather.
He joins Si Woo Kim (R2/2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson), Blades Brown (R2/Nicklaus Tournament Course) and Andrew Putnam (R2/La Quinta CC) – The American Express – with the lowest round on Tour this season.
Since his last victory at the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Clark had recorded two runner-up finishes (2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational, 2024 Players Championship). His last top-10 finish before this victory was T4 at the 2025 Open Championship.
“I was in contention at the Masters,” he added. “I was in contention at RBC. I was in contention my first event of the year at Amex, I was in the final or second to last group in third place. I played a lot of really good first two rounds and then just faltered on the weekend. So in my mind, I look at those and say, okay, I’m playing good golf. I just haven’t put it together for four rounds.
“But to really answer your question, yeah, I felt like my game was trending. Right before the PGA at home, I shot 64, 63, and 61 at the course — at Whisper Rock playing with some guys, and I felt really confident. Then I went to the PGA and just drove it the worst I’ve ever driven it, and that was really the difference. So I was really bummed because my game felt awesome going into PGA, but maybe it was just one week late.
“So getting here working on the driver, I felt confident. Then after the first round, I felt really good on the greens, and I said, okay, this could be a really fun, special week.”
Overnight leader Si Woo Kim of Korea fired seven birdies and one bogey for a 65 and captured his second runner-up result this season (T2/Farmers Insurance Open). He made 33 birdies for the week, five more than the second-most 28 made by winner Wyndham Clark, and two birdies shy of the 35 made by Hideki Matsuyama at the 2025 Sentry, the most made in a 72-hole event on the PGA Tour on record.
American Scottie Scheffler closed with a bogey-free 65 to finish third at 25-under. He made one bogey for the week (No. 4/R3), the fewest of any player. The World No. 1 has had 32 straight top-25 finishes on Tour. His last finish outside the top 25 was at the 2024 BMW Championship (T33).
In his 40th PGA Tour start, American Jackson Suber posted a bogey-free 63 for fourth place at 23-under, his best finish and the fourth top-10 of his career (4th/2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson, T6/2025 Sony Open in Hawaii, T6/2025 Rocket Classic, 7th/2025 Barracuda Championship).
American Blades Brown made one bogey and closed with a 67 for a T14 finish and earned 55 non-member FedExCup points to surpass the threshold to become eligible for Special Temporary Membership of the PGA Tour.
